Sk8er

You know - my brother skated when he was younger and I had an old black banana shaped skateboard that was used for mostly downhill skiing when I was younger. Things have changed... eh?

Mike's Hobby and Hand Moto

Got a call this morning, from Jay, to come out and watch some 1/8th Scale Gas RC action at Mike's Hobby in Carrollton. Mikes is a really cool shop - Electric, GAS RC (Airplanes, Cars, Trucks, Truggies, Buggies and Helicopters.) Super nice staff! They have 2 indoor tracks and a recently added outdoor track for the nitro (Gas) RC.

Headed over to the outdoor track and got to meet some cool people who take the RC sport as serious as any other sport out there. Everyone seemed to be competitive and at the same time having fun and helping each other out.

Jay runs an Xray and the motor puts

Dillon Terry Benefit Event @ Stadium Yamaha: Saturday July 17th, 2010

Many of you have heard the news regarding Dillon Terry's accident at Oak Hill and the resultant Closed Head Injury he suffered. It is always hard to hear about someone you know being injured and especially hard when the injury can quite possibly end the individuals life or future riding prospects.

Currently, Dillon and the Terry family, are holding to their faith and hoping for the best for Dillon's recovery. The doctors have stated that they expect a full recovery in 1 to 2 years from the injury and Dillon is moving along at a great pace toward that full recovery.
EDR Firecracker 250

The race is over and the dust settled. This event was probably the toughest race of the year with the track side temperatures reaching 110 degrees by 3PM on race day. Friday morning and afternoon was prerun time which allowed the racers to go out and get a feel of the 50 mile course. The course had not been raced on since the early 1990s so much of it was in good condition and there was lots of hard packed surface to run on. The EDR staff worked for weeks to prep the course and clear away parts of the course that were over grown with mesquite trees. The first 10 miles were rough with several nasty blind ditches but once on the back 40 miles it opened up a bit with long straight aways. The race ran right through the oil fields that had oil pumps laboring away. Across the highway was a wind

Extreme Desert Racing presents the Fire Cracker 250 in Notrees, TX June 25th-26th. This offroad race is the 2nd in the 4 race Texas Offroad series and is expected to be one of the toughest in the series due to the terrain, length of the race, and summer temperatures. This race will be 250 punishing miles through the West Texas desert and the 3 inch+ mesquite thorns, cactus, and sharp rocks are expected to claim several tires from each team. Most racers are putting lots of Slime in their tires and have more spares on hand than usual. The race is expected to take race cars and trucks 5-8 hours to complete depending
