    Good baja 1000 documentary

This is a three part 1 hour total documentary about two guys that decided to race the Baja 1000 on a KTM550.....err well a 450 because the 550 blew up before the race. :D Having run a couple of 1000s in a car I was cringing at some of the decisions they were making but through sheer grit, determination, and effort these guys pulled off a Baja 1000 finish which says a whole lot about both their character and rider\mechanical ability. When I first started watching it all I could think was 'lambs to the slaughter!', but these guys were fast and tough and had what it took. The basic summary is about a couple of guys wrenching on a bike, racing, and sharing the experience.

These guys did a great job on this documentary and big kudos for having the drive, dream, and b*lls to go down and give the grandfather of all offroad races a try AND get a finish. This race typically has a 40-50% no finish rate. A well done documentary and worth watching if you have the time.

Hahaha now that's a good one.... Too slow and too fat to race that on a bike. :D I probably have 75-100 miles in me at trail ride speeds and then I'm done....I need a car or truck for that.

im just stupid enough to do it.. not good enough ,just stupid.
i guess its a good thing that i can afford something like that. id end up crashing out in the 80 miles of whoops, with the bike on top of me and a fender in my tail pipe or some thing.
maybe get yamahaulin to follow me in the plane and take pics and vid.
wait a minute how slow can that plane go a gain ???

So there is the occasional telephone pole in the road covered with enough dirt to make it look like it's smooth road, or there is the part of the road where there is a stack of tires laden with barbed wire blocking the entire road in a bottle neck section, or there are the boards with nails in em. Or maybe you come across the ditch that was dug the night before the race that is designed to make cars and trucks flip. There are all these traps to watch out for but the scariest thing for a bike would be having an 850+ hp trophy truck breathing down your neck. Cool thing is you can feel them coming up behind you because they shake the ground and you can get out of the way. The fast guys don't have to worry about this but I would get fetched around the 7-9 hour mark. :(

I'll take my chances in a car. :D
